Sung graduated with Business Administration (Finance) and International Economics degrees from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 2005 and joined the insurance industry with Willis Towers Watson in 2009. After 15 years of broking and leading Asian and international Hull and Ship building businesses in the London market, Sung joined Lockton Companies (Singapore) Pte Ltd as the Regional Head of Marine for Asia and relocated to Singapore in 2024.
